‘It is another sad day for all,’ says NPCC President

DIMAPUR, MARCH 2 (MExN): The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) today while congratulating the BJP and its alliance for receiving absolute mandate of the people, however cast doubt on whether “it is the verdict of EVMs or that of the people.”

“It is another sad day for all Congressmen, women and well-wishers for which I apologize for the weaknesses and shortcomings. In the past five years, despite of our nil presence in the State Assembly, we have been upholding the interests of the people which we thought were important for Nagaland but we found ourselves to be alone,” a press release from the NPCC President, K Therie stated.

“The verdict is also against the civil societies who were protesting for solution and has also weakened Christian society before the world. We gave an election manifesto wherein we have promised to change Nagaland, however, this remains rejected by the majority,” the Congress said.
