Noklak, August 16 (MExN): The Wolam Nyukyan(New Pangsha ) students’ Union (WNYSU) strongly condemned the firing incident at 45AR E’ Coy Assam Rifle camp at ITC Dan on August 15. “The citizens of Pangsha and the government of Nagaland has created ITC Dan to become one of the major trading hub for exchanging of social cultural heritage with the Myanmar not for ’battle ground’,” the WNYSU asserted. “Such incidents destroy the peaceful existence environment and putting the innocent public to live in fear and despair in their own homeland,” the Union said in its statement. It also said that the incident has brought hindrance to all the villagers and particularly to the students by destroying the learning environment . The Union urged those responsible to render their service to education and development process instead. “We are peace loving citizens we don’t have a place for war and bloodshed in our land,” it added. It appealed to those responsible for the incident “not to create such unwanted situations anymore,” and called for maintenance of a peaceful atmosphere in the area.
