JALUKIE, SEPTEMBER 17 (MExN): In a landmark moment for Jalukie, St Xavier’s Higher Secondary School on Tuesday hosted the first-ever All Private School Championship, organised under the aegis of the All Nagaland Private School Association (ANPSA), Peren Unit, in collaboration with the Assam Rifles.
The event brought together 13 private schools which fielded 26 teams in both boys and girls categories. It drew an overwhelming response from the community, with over 2,000 students, teachers and parents gathering at the school grounds to witness the sporting contests.
The inauguration ceremony featured a brass band display by St. Xavier’s students and a traditional bamboo dance performance, highlighting Nagaland’s rich cultural heritage.
The Assam Rifles extended logistical and organisational support for the event, underscoring its commitment to youth empowerment, sports promotion and fostering closer ties with the local community.
Representatives from ANPSA and the Chief Guest from the Assam Rifles said the championship was not only a celebration of sports but also a platform to nurture unity, teamwork and discipline among the youth.
The initiative, the first large-scale inter-school sports event in Jalukie, is expected to pave the way for more such opportunities in the years to come.
