Jamir expects ‘political framework’ within CF period

KOHIMA, (MExN): Goa Governor SC Jamir said that he had expected both the Government of India and NSCN-IM to hammer out certain political framework within the ongoing cease fire period, but so far nothing has been worked out.

Jamir who attended the Vice Chancellors’ meet today as chief guest here at the Police Headquarter Conference Hall told a section of the press after the inaugural function that a solution, permanent and acceptable to the people must be framed within the current ceasefire period. But he declined to comment further on the current situation in the State and the ongoing political dialogue.

“I wish within a ceasefire period certain political framework is worked out, but so far nothing has been done” said Jamir.

He said that Nagas should take killing as a matter of past, and work for peace and unity through reconciliation. Pointing out that Nagaland was a paradise on earth the Governor however regretted that Nagas has become godless. “Fear god”, Jamir said.

He also regretted that progress in Nagaland had been severely affected by the abnormal situation prevailing.
