Dimapur, April 25 (MExN): The newly created district of Chümoukedima, the Joint Co-ordination Committee of villages (JCCV) for Dimapur district on Monday informed that the committee has decided to lock the Office of the SDO (C) Dhansiripar with effect from May 2 for an indefinite period till such time the Government notification NO.GAB-1/COM/DIST-ADMIN/2019(Pt-1) dated 20th December 2022 is partially modified.
The committee in a press release stated that during the meeting held on April 25 at Dhansiripar village Community hall, the house was briefed about the JCCV meeting with Governor of Nagaland and Chief Secretary, Nagaland “in the recent times.”
“On the request of the Home Commissioner, Nagaland through SDO (C) Dhansiripar and verbal request of the Chief Secretary, Nagaland, the JCCV had put off agitations and have been waiting till date for the Government to resolve the impasse, it is not known if the Dimapur-Chümoukedima boundary demarcation Committee headed by Home Commissioner, Nagaland could submit the report to the Government,” it stated.
The committee said that even after almost four months of fervent pleas, “the Government neither tried to listen to the JCCV nor cared to speed up the decision on the impasse.” It also mentioned that the JCCV at different level had submitted representations to the Government to retain the listed 50+ odd villages with Dimapur district.
