Jalukie, September 4 (MExN): The Jalukie Students’ Union Nagaland (JSUN) conducted a verification drive in Jalukie jurisdiction on September 4 to identify and address alleged violations of the Inner Line Permit (ILP) system.
During the drive, the union identified 28 individuals whose ILPs had expired and 38 others who were found without valid ILP passes, it said in a press release.
The matter was subsequently brought to the attention of the district administration, following which appropriate action was taken in accordance with applicable rules and regulations, the union said.
The JSUN said it remained committed to addressing concerns related to illegal immigration in the region and urged the authorities to remain vigilant and take proactive measures to ensure effective implementation of the ILP system. It also appealed to citizens and stakeholders to cooperate with the authorities in maintaining law and order and safeguarding the interests of indigenous people in the region.
