Dimapur, April 16 (MExN): The Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) today urged the Naga people to reject all that are “wrong” and that the Baptist organization’s coming platinum jubilee would be an opportunity to start afresh in faith and action.
“A jubilee time is the appropriate time to take stock and make a fresh start in faith. NBCC therefore humbly but with a sense of urgency calls upon all Nagas to reject whatever we know is wrong and will destroy us but repent and take our society forward together,” the council said in a message received here today. The message was appended by NBCC general secretary L Anjo Keikung and chairman of NBCC peace committee Huzo Meru. With the grace and wisdom of God, the council said, if the people help one another to reject the wrong at this difficult hour, the coming Naga generations shall rise up and “call us blessed.” The NBCC has called out to the Nagas to reject violence for lasting peace and prosperity in the land.
The platinum jubilee of the NBCC will celebrate the pioneers work and guide the church in the future, the council said. “But we cannot doubt that God is more interested in the living sacrifice each one of us will accept today to transform our society into His kingdom on Earth as it must be in heaven. Nagas of today dare not accept to create anything less for His and our children’s sakes.”
The NBCC said burden of a broken society has become unbearable and the sin is an abomination to God. “The shallowness of thought and intolerable mischief of action that characterize our society today are a reflection of our relationship with God who cannot be mocked,” the message added.
