Mokokchung, June 4 (MExN): The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Jubilee Memorial College (JMC), Mokokchung, organised a Student Induction Programme 2026 to welcome newly admitted students and acquaint them with the institution's academic environment, values and opportunities.

Held at the JMC Hall, the programme aimed to help students transition smoothly into college life while encouraging them to actively engage in academic and co-curricular activities.

The programme began with an invocation by Livi Awomi, Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology, followed by a keynote address by Principal Dr Imtiwati Jamir.

Welcoming the students, Dr Jamir urged them to make the most of their college years through dedication, curiosity and active participation. He also provided an overview of the courses offered by the college, explained the credit-based grading system and informed students about the Student Welfare Fund available to deserving beneficiaries.

As part of the induction programme, Alemjungla, Assistant Professor in the Department of History, presented the college's Code of Conduct, while Office Assistant John Diengdoh conducted a session on digital transactions.

Tsungrosenla Jamir, Assistant Professor in the Department of English, introduced students to the various skill-based and add-on courses offered by the institution to strengthen their academic and professional competencies.

The second session featured motivational talks under the theme "My Academic Journey". JMCSU Convenor Bendangsunep Ani and Aochila Allen Amer, a member of the 2023 batch who recently cleared the Nagaland Staff Selection Board (NSSB) examination, shared their experiences and encouraged students to remain focused, resilient and committed to their goals.

A special session titled "Nurturing Growth and Transformation" was conducted by counsellor Yimnayanger, who emphasised the importance of personal development, emotional well-being and mental health in achieving academic success and holistic growth.

The programme concluded with the Lord's Prayer and was hosted by Dr Shisachila Imchen, Assistant Professor in the Department of History.
