July 31 Lapalampong incident in unacceptable and unjustifiable: Khango

Dimapur, August 1 (MExN): The NSCN/GPRN (Khango) issued a statement reacting to the July 31 incident in Lapalampong village, Tizit, Mon, in which 4 members of the NSCN/GPRN (Akato) were allegedly abducted by the NSCN (IM) resulting in the death of one. The statement was issued by its Ministry of Information and Publicity.

The deceased victim, identified as Deputy Kilonser, Temzei Konyak, was allegedly beaten to death, while the whereabouts of the other three was said to be unknown.

While alleging the NSCN (IM), it said that the “crime” is “unacceptable and unjustifiable under any circumstances when the Nagas are yearning for peace and reconciliation among the various sections of the Naga society and political groups.” It then advised the NSCN (IM) to refrain from acts of violence that would be detrimental towards peace and unity in the region.

It said, “While NSCN/ GPRN ( Khango)  along with the whole  Naga people are conscientiously looking forward  to maintaining peace  and order  in the society and pursuing  for peaceful co-existence  and inculcate  understanding  amidst  the myriad elements, such offensive  and vexed activities of the NSCN (IM)  towards their own  blood  brethren is uncalled  for  and jeopardising the peaceful efforts of the people and  deserves  to be condemned  by  every right thinking citizen of Nagas.”
