Kaushal Rozgar Mela held in Dimapur

The 2nd day of the Kaushal & Rozgar Mela organized by The People Channel (TPC) in collaboration Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) was held at Hotel Acacia, Dimapur on Friday.  

ADC Dimapur Sarah Jamir was supposed to be the chief guest but did not turn up owing to busy schedule. However, Managing Director of TPC, Rozelle Mero exhorted the gathering and gave useful tips to the trainees on how to venture out and present themselves in the corporate world.  

Speaking from her own experiences of working in different corporate sectors within the country and abroad, Rozelle said determination, perseverance, patience and hardwork were the defining factors to be successful in the corporate field. She pointed out that professionalism was lacking in the state whereas in the Indian metros and abroad; the rules and regulations set were strictly followed and adhered to.  

Rozelle cautioned the trainees against taking their courses lightly as that would bring failure for themselves. She urged them to learn about teamwork, organizational skills, hosting etc by keeping their ears, eyes and minds open.  

During the programme, the TPC handed out certificates to 34 trainees who completed 3-month course in the hospitality sector. Directing her address to the passing trainees, Rozelle said that during their initial years of placement, salary might not be up to their expectations but encouraged them to use those initial years as a time to learn and improve on their skills and gradually climb the ladder of success.  

“And wherever you go, do not remain silent. Always speak out to your superiors if anything happens to you in the work place,” she advised. Rozelle also encouraged them to showcase their culture and tradition whenever opportunity comes. 

Head of Project, Wolumo Humtsoe presented a brief report on PMKVY while TPC trainees presented a special number.

During the first day of the event, Nyempo SDO (Civil) graced the occasion as chief guest. She highlighted the role of The People Channel in being a channel to provide job opportunities to the youth over the years.  

She exhorted the participants to be ambassadors of the state once they get placement outside Nagaland. She shared her experience that honesty and hard work are the keys to success.  

About 50 youth from Dimapur, Kohima and Mokokchung participated in the mela. The inaugural proceeding of the mela was compered by N Krocha, Center Head SOLVSE, while Wolumo Humtsoe, Head of Projects TPC briefed about PMKVY process, features and benefits. Vote of thanks was pronounced by Aienla Jamir, Head of Client Services.
