Dimapur, March 5 (MExN): The Kuda B Youth Organization (KBYO) of Kuda village, Dimapur, carried out a social work on March 1 to clear garbage dumped in the Dhansiri Bridge area. Despite repeated warnings and sanitation drives, the west end of the bridge near Kuda village continues to be misused as a dumping site by irresponsible individuals.

In a press release, KBYO expressed concern over the blatant disregard for cleanliness and civic responsibility. The organization highlighted that despite visible signboards prohibiting garbage disposal, the area remains littered with waste, posing health and environmental risks.

To address the issue, KBYO organised the social work and also engaged an excavator to clear the rotting garbage dumped for the past several weeks. The collected waste was properly disposed of with the assistance of the Kuda Youth Club’s sanitary truck, it stated.

KBYO has urged the public to cultivate hygienic habits, practice cleanliness and demonstrate civic sense to maintain a clean and healthy environment. The organization also issued a caution, stating that anyone caught littering or dumping garbage at the Dhansiri Bridge site will face hefty fines or “risk public exposure of their actions on social media platforms.”
