Kezhaseluo Pienyü wins 18th Hornbill International Naga Wrestling C’ship

Kezhaseluo Pienyü from Angami tribe today emerged the champion title of 18th Hornbill International Naga Wrestling Championship 2025 held at Kimipfiiphe Local Ground, Kigwema.

Winning the coveted champion title, Pienyü pocketed a cash prize of Rs. 70,000.

Thuputha Hesuh (Chakhesang) bagged second position and received Rs. 50,000.

Semi finalists Waku K. Tara (Chakhesang) and Mulusu Veswuh (Chakhesang) received Rs. 10,000 each.

Under 90 kg & below category, Kevizhakho Suokhrie (Angami) won the champion title and awarded with Rs. 40,000.

Sasuyi Nyekha (Chakhesang) stood 2nd position and received Rs. 20,000.

Semi finalists Seyiejalie Gwirie (Angami) and Basayi Keyho (Chakhesang) received Rs. 10,000 each.

In provisional category, Senitlong Imchen (Ao) and Yimkhumsashi Pongen (Ao) bagged 1st and 2nd position and awarded with Rs. 30,000 and Rs. 20,000 respectively.

Semi finalists Sotilo Rengma and Jochuhyu Semy both from Rengma tribe received Rs. 10,000 each.

In women’s category, Vizoseno Kiso (Angami) and Lutholu Veziih (Chakhesang) stood 1st and 2nd position and awarded with Rs. 20,000 and Rs. 10,000 respectively.

Semi finalists Vikehienuo Zumvu (Angami) and Helivi Sheqi (Sumi) awarded with Rs. 5000 each.

Earlier, MLA Kevipodi Sophie graced the event as the special guest.

This event was part of the Hornbill Festival 2025, organised by Nagaland Wrestling Association, sponsored by Department of Youth Resources & Sports, Nagaland and supported by Nagaland Tourism.
