KGPO appeals for intervention

Dimapur, July 21 (MExN): The Kuhuboto Ghakhu Public Organisation (KGPO) has written a letter to the Deputy Commissioner Dimapur urging Government intervention and appealing for “immediate construction” of hanging bridge at Henivi/Semaguri village.

The KGPO in its letter to the DC highlighted that the hanging bridge which was constructed by the villagers many years back was washed away by the strong river current on July 19 evening.

Pointing out that the bridge had been serving as a lifeline to Dimapur town for villages like Henivi, Khughovi, Lotovi etc., the KGPO stated that the washing away of the bridge is going to bring much hardship to the people in getting essential commodities, medical emergencies, besides affecting students and office going people.

In this regard, the KGPO appealed the authority to take up the matter seriously and construct the hanging bridge at the earliest for immediate rehabilitation of the people living in those villages.
