Chozuba, September 9 (MExN): Nagaland Advisor for CAWD Kudecho Khamo on Wednesday urged government officials to work cohesively for the development of Chozuba and envision its future in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
Addressing a departmental coordination meeting at Vamuzo Memorial Town Hall in Chozuba, Khamo said Chozuba's strategic location and connectivity with the National Highway called for development planning keeping future generations in mind.
He called for greater coordination among departments and urged officials to serve the people diligently. Recalling Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio's remarks during Phek's 50th anniversary celebration that the district was the most progressive in the state, Khamo called upon officials to introspect on their contributions and leave a positive "footprint" through their service.
Khamo said government resources and opportunities were available for development and encouraged young people to take up entrepreneurship. He urged banks and financial institutions to work closely with the people and called for a financial literacy mela to create awareness.
He also suggested organising a fair at Chozuba for MSMEs, self-help groups and farmers to sell their products, while providing departments a platform for public outreach.
Highlighting the potential of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary sectors among the Chakhesang people, Khamo said there was considerable scope for growth in the sector. He also noted the progress in Agriculture and Horticulture.
He urged departments to adopt a village each for model projects and expressed willingness to participate in such initiatives within a year. He also proposed monthly social work, including cleanliness drives, in Chozuba to maintain hygiene.
Khamo urged officials to develop a "servanthood attitude", support one another and continue contributing to the people even after their transfer or posting.
The meeting was chaired by EAC Chozuba Nengpichong Singsit. Additional Deputy Commissioner Zapuno Khatso said the meeting was convened on Khamo's initiative to improve coordination among departments and review programmes and projects in the sub-division.
Chozuba Town Council Chairman Sevonyi Keyho welcomed newly posted officers and urged them to leave a positive footprint through their service. He also congratulated Dr Lolekhol, senior medical officer at CHC Chozuba, on receiving a district-level Commendation Award.
Heads of various departments presented updates on their activities, including Rural Development, Health and Family Welfare, Industries and Commerce, Agriculture, NKVIB, Roads and Bridges, IPR, Social Welfare, PHED, Education, SBI, Soil and Water Conservation and Forest departments, among others.
The meeting also expressed concern over the non-commencement of the Science stream at GHSS Chozuba despite an agreement in principle and urged the School Education Department to introduce the stream from the next academic session.
