Dimapur, January 27 (MExN): Stating that individuals belonging to adjoining areas are encroaching upon its village land without any legal sanction, the Khehoi Village Council has urged upon the responsible individuals to restrain themselves from such “unpalatable practices” to ensure cordial co-existence between neighbouring villages. In a press note received here KVC Chairman, Kughalu Yepthomi said the council,under Dhansiripar sub-division of Dimapur District, was constrained to issue the notice as it may lead to land disputes in the near future between neighbours which are the last thing the village desires.
"The notice may be taken in all seriousness and its defiance may lead to unnecessary situation for which the Khehoi village will not be held responsible in any manner whatsoever,” it added.
Plots procured by an organization and an individual do not come under the purview of the notice, it said adding the rest of the encroached land should be vacated by February 29,
