A khelo India Centre (Badminton) was inaugurated today at Indoor Badminton Stadium Mokokchung on April 18 by Kaito Aye, Minister, Agriculture and Cooperation, Government of Nagaland.

G Kaito Aye in his speech said that the government is giving its best effort to develop sports and create opportunities and platform for athletes. He encouraged both young and old to take advantage of the Centre and take up the responsibility of promoting sports culture and create unbiased atmosphere for young talents to develop and achieve excellence.

Martoshi Jamir, President, Mokokchung District Badminton Association, while acknowledging the collaborations with the Youth Resources Department in setting up the Khelo India Centre, said that this collaboration will help produce star players who will represent the state in national levels.

He also said that the MDBA has a vision of producing at least one player who can represent the nation in the Olympics and that the department will render their continued support in their endeavor.
