Khulazu Basa, December 28 (MExN): The Khulazu Basa Baptist Church (KBCC) Christian Youth Endeavour (CYE) celebrated its 75th anniversary under the theme “Proclaim His Salvation” on December 27 and 28.
Speaking on the theme at KBCC on Sunday, Dr Zulhoupeu K Kezo, Principal Cho Theological College, Niuanu Longding, Arunachal Pradesh, emphasised on the importance of being careful with one’s choice of songs. As Christian, they must choose to honour God with their praise. She also noted that worship is the natural overflow of a heart that has encountered God’s grace.
Vepakho Vese, Youth Secretary of Chakhesang Baptist Church Council, spoke on the topic “Grounded in the word” on Saturday. He pointed out that one of the main reasons for problems and issues in the society today is because Christians are not grounded in the word of God. Noting that there are so many disturbing forces in the world, he urged the youth to go back to the Bible.
Dwelling on the topic “win the lost”, Rev Kehuve Chüzho, pastor Khulazu Basa Baptist Church, challenged the youth to decide to live in righteousness and lead Godly life. He added that it is time to update one’s faith in God.
Earlier on Saturday, Chüzho unveiled the jubilee monolith outside the chruch.
Nekhoto Tetseo, CYE Director informed that the village hosted the third fellowship of the Chakhesang Christian Endeavour (CE) Union in late 1949 and early 1950. Medihi Rhakho was the first CYE chairman following the inception of the title “Chairman” in 1950.
Other highlights of the programme included Chokri Area Baptist Youth Fellowship Chairman Müthasheyi Chotso and Japfüphiki Chokri Baptist Khriesarü-ü Krotho Chairman Vizapo Kikhi delivering the greetings. Members of New Deka Baptist Church, Arunachal Pradesh, presented worship dance at the programme.
Hundreds of youth members participated in the celebration. Representatives of the church youth department from nearby villages also attended the programme.
