PSA Oxygen plant installation complete, awaiting green signal

Newly appointed State Nodal Officer for Dimapur district to manage COVID-19 activities, Y Kikheto Sema, on Thursday visited a number of facilities and held meetings to begin his assigned duties.
Accompanied by Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur, the Nodal Officer visited CIHSR and discussed with its Director, Dr Sedevi about the services available in the hospital.
Kikheto appreciated the hospital for its services to the public and urged them to continue serving the public. He appealed the hospital to reserve maximum bed capacity for COVID-19 related problems. Dr Sedevi expressed the willingness of the hospital to provide maximum possible service for COVID-19 related cases.
The Nodal Officer also visited Oxygen refilling plant of BMA Liquid Air at Naga United Village and appreciated its proprietor Imti Aier for his yeoman service not only to the State but neighbouring states as well. Imti Aier expressed willingness to give priority to the State but was apprehensive of power failures to which both the Nodal Officer and DC said they will take up the issue with the power department.
Kikheto later visited the PSA Oxygen Plant installation at District Hospital which was completed on May 13 and awaiting green signal from the authorities for starting operation. Kikheto said the Oxygen plant would ease the burden of demand for oxygen cylinders to some extent.
He also held at brief meeting with the Chief Medical Officer, Medical Superintendent and other senior officers at the District Hospital and expressed appreciation to the frontline workers especially the health workers. Kikheto said that the government would do the best for the welfare of the frontline workers.
He pointed out that the citizens have been gripped with fear of the disease and urged the frontline workers to be mentally prepared even for the worst. “We need to erase the mental fear of the people. We will not surrender to Covid but together we will overcome it but the government needs the citizens to be disciplined and follow directives. The government is doing its best and it is up to the citizens either to let us win this war by cooperating with the authorities or to let the authorities have a difficult time,” he added.
