Kiphire DPDB focus on developmental issues

Kiphire, February 12 (MExN): The monthly meeting of Kiphire District Planning & Development Board for the month of February was held on 8th at the office chamber of the Deputy Commissioner, Kiphire under the Chairmanship of C. Kipili Sangtam, MLA, Chairman, NSMDC, Nagaland and Chairman, DPDB, Kiphire. Calling upon the members to treat all the red letter days like Republic and Independence Days seriously, the Chairman directed all the head of offices to be very strict to discipline their respective staff in attendance.
District Planning Officer, S. Akho Theyo in a press release on the meeting stated that while giving his view on the proposal, the SDO(C) Seyochung stressed on the urgent requirement of replacing the present doctor, who never attend his duty, by a new doctor to take care of the sick people of Seyochung area who are facing lot of hardship going to Zunheboto or Kiphire for treatment which doubled their expenditure. In this regard the MLA and the Chairman, DPDB informed the members that at least 3 doctors will be coming soon to fill up the vacancies, probably latest by April, 2011.
The Vice Chairman seek the MLA and the Chairman, DPDB’s intervention in bringing the office of Land Record and Survey Officer to the district at the earliest help the district Administration bring solution to many hurdles in land issue. The Chairman enlightened the members that though the Government may come up with a common rate for the entire State, as of now, the proposal rate to purchase land by the Government for government department in Kiphire District is tentatively fixed at Rs. 30,000 per acre in town area, Rs. 25,000 in SDO (Civil) Headquarters, Rs. 20,000 in EAC headquarters and Rs. 15,000 in the rest of the far-flung areas. Summing up the discussion on land issue, the MLA called upon all the concerned members to bring up the matter to his notice in the next meeting, if any land encroachment problem in their respective department.
Deliberating on the water supply in the district, the Executive Engineer (PHED) informed the Board that 62 villages in the district have been already connected with water supply, 56 villages Communitised and 7 unrecognized villages in Kiusam area yet to be connected. Commenting on the matter, the Chairman, DPDB directed Executive Engineer (PHED)  to verify all the 62 villages whether water supply in all these villages are functioning properly and directed him to report the matter in the next meeting, including those of 56 Communitised villages. The MLA directed the department of education to see that the Village Education Committee (VEC) should not only focus on deduction of teachers’ salary for their absence, rather focus on proxy teachers and on developmental aspects.
Calling the attention of the Board members of the good harvest of potato at Phisami Village potato farms this year with a good amount of surplus production this year, the MLA called upon the Agriculture Department to make good use of APMC in transporting out the surplus products for commercial purpose. The MLA also directed the departments of Industries and Co-operation, where loan facilities are being made available, to strictly implement the schemes by avoiding releasing the subsidy component thereby ignoring the loan components. The MLA also proposed organising a sales day of fishery products in the district. The Board members decided to organise DPDB meeting-cum-Picnic on March 15 at Quarry Road.

The monthly DPDB of Kiphire was held at the Official chamber of the Deputy Commissioner Kiphire with Chairman DPDB and MLA C. Kipili Sangtam on Tuesday last. Addressing the DPDB meeting Chairman and MLA called upon the officers to be sincere in ones duties and asked the officers to build up a relation with the people so that developmental activities reach the grass root people.
He also warned not to take advantage with the provision of drawing ones salaries from elsewhere in the country with the facility of core banking, and added, disciplinary action will be taken to erring officers. Chairman and MLA also called upon the officers and head of the department to bring the agendas for the betterment of the district and also to put ones head together as it is one of the highest policy making body in the district. The chairman also asked the Station Superintendent NST Kiphire to acquire land at Seyochung Town for further expansion of the department works.  Highlighting the status of Primary Health centre at Seyochung the Chief Medical Office express sadness on the present site of building and said that it is not fit for human habitation and express the need to have new site for the construction of the new building.
Zhetovi Sema Advisor  of the Kiphire Town Council request the departmental head to submit their proposal of their respective department in the meeting so that it work accordingly, he also requested the Officers of Kiphire District to be sincere  in attending the meeting and to be stationed in its respective hq.  C.M Tsanglao Deputy Commissioner Kiphire asked all the administrative in charge to look properly after the land in their respective administrative areas. The Board generally recommended Seyochung Town for up gradation of ADC post. Earlier the DPDB welcome three new DPDB members in the meeting.
