Kiphire to transform district hospital into COVID-19 hospital

The Chief Medical Officer, Kiphire Dr E Motsuthung Patton has informed that District Hospital Kiphire (DHK) will be converted into COVID-19 hospital and therefore, other patients will be transferred to old district hospital building. 

 


Briefing the District Task Force (DTF) during a review meeting held at DC's Conference Hall, about the preparedness in tackling COVID-19, the CMO informed that district hospital Kiphire has received one portable ventilator recently. He stated that DADU girls and boy’s hostel and Zisaji Presidency College has been identified and kept ready as quarantine home. 

 


Above the material received by the medical department, CMO stated that 5 Thermal Scanner, 40 PPE, 1750 N95 Mask, 2900 triple layer mask, 5 bottles of 500 M.L and 10 bottles of 100 M. L has been received by the department. 

 


Taking all precautionary measures to keep the people of Kiphire safe from COVID-19, DTF led by Deputy Commissioner Sarita Yadav, IAS Kiphire held the meeting. 

 


Addressing the DTF members, the DC informed that grand-in-aid sanctioned under Rural Department for MGNREGA has been released which is solely to be used for the purpose of construction of COVID-19 facilities in every village. She urged upon the village councils to judiciously make use of the fund mean for the welfare of the people as envisioned by the government. 

 


Sarita Yadav also extended appreciation towards Medical fraternity, Police and Civil Societies for extending help and cooperation towards administration during the implementation of Lockdown. 

 


Giving a status report about the law and order situation in Kiphire Addl. SP Kiphire said that law and order situation in Kiphire is normal as of now.  

 


He stated that all international borders has been sealed off at the same time three point of screening in district level set up at Longmatra, Yangzitong and Longthonger. He said that police are maintaining daily monitoring of people entering and leaving Kiphire at the same time keeping all arrangements in place to tackle any eventualities.

 

 
He said that police manpower in Kiphire was sufficient as of now but if needed he stated that Police headquarters in Kohima has been informed of help if the case arises. Further, he appealed to the people to all join hands and cooperate with the authority to defeat the disease.
