KMC, AYO to continue sanitation effort in Kohima

Kohima, June 7 (MExN): In order to keep the capital city clean, the general public and business establishments have been once again informed that Sanitation Enforcement Team under Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) and Angami Youth Organization (AYO) will continue to perform duty in the main town from TCP gate to North PS junction to check defaulters in connection to sanitation.

Now, the Sanitation Enforcement team will be covering BOC area to Jail Colony as well as monitoring cleanliness in the concerned areas.

KMC will also be providing vehicle service at the main town and BOC area twice daily, once in the morning and once in the evening around 3:30 to 4 PM. In this connection, the general public and business establishment have been informed that anyone found throwing; waste/garbage on the roadsides, streets, drains and public place will be penalized as per the law.

Further, the business establishments have also been directed to collect the carton boxes separately and deposit it to the cart pullers. They are directed not to mix it up with other garbage. The general public is also informed to collect waste in bags/sacks for disposal and easy collection by the Kohima KMC labours and not to scatter garbage on the road sides.

Henceforth, the business establishment are to collect and throw their waste only during the time the vehicle comes to collect the garbage and not between the hours, a release received here said adding that failing to comply with the notice, necessary action shall be taken against the defaulters.
