Kohima, August 31 (MExN): As part of its cleanliness drive and for proper maintenance of sanitation in and around Kohima Town, the Kohima Town Council and Kohima Chamber of Commerce and Industries in a joint meeting held on August 24 has came out with some resolution for information of all the shopkeepers and for strict regulation.
According to the outcome of the meeting, it said for collection of dust-bin will be from 6:00 AM (summer 5-6 pm, winter 4-5 pm). The shopkeepers are directed to throw their waste in the morning before 6:00 am and evening after 4:00 pm and collection of waste/garbage’s by the wholesalers and retailers should be completed before 6:00 am.
It informed that vehicle for collection of waste/garbage shall be placed in the present collection point namely- Old NST infront of the state emporium/ new NST/North PS junction/old MLA Hostel Junction. Collecting by stopping at a distance of 200ft from the shops. A release received here stated certain penalty for throwing wastes on the road by shop keepers. Ist Offence: Rs. 200. 2nd office: Rs. 400 and 3rd offence: Cancellation of trade permit and imprisonment. This order shall start from September 5, the release said.
