Kohima: 3rd inter-department badminton tourney from Oct 13

The 3rd inter- department badminton tournament (Kohima Edition 2023) under the aegis of Inter-Department Badminton Club Kohima (IDBCK) will take place from October 13 to 14 at Nagaland’s Legislative Assembly (NLA) multi-purpose hall, Kohima.

Announcing this during a press conference here today, Kohima deputy commissioner and IDBCK convenor  Shanavas C said that the last date for submission of form have been extended to October 11.

Sabou Yashu, director, Directorate of Information Technology & Communication and member IDBCK also present at the press conference.
The winners for each category will receive Rs. 15,000 and Rs. 10,000 for runner-up.

Entry fee have been fixed at Rs. 2000 per team.

Expecting over 50 dept 
Shanavas informed that the inter-department badminton tournament was started in 2021 to create the atmosphere of comradeship and build better relationship among the various departments in Kohima.

The last 2nd edition registered the participation of 40 departments with more than 100 teams in the different categories.

Shanavas was hopeful that this 3rd edition will witness 100 plus participants from more than 50 departments.

“There was immense support from the various departments in the last two editions and we hope to have the same level of support this year too,” he said.

All departments including the directorates have been invited to the tournament.

Registration form has also been made available at Room No. 518- Directorate of School Education, Kohima, Okusa Toyota showroom, Secretariat road and Sport Inventory, opposite Indoor Badminton Stadium, Raj Bhavan road.
