The 4th edition of the Inter-Department tournament 2024 Kohima edition will be held on August 16 and 17 at Nagaland Legislative Assembly multipurpose hall.
Informing this at a press conference, Shanavas C, Agriculture Production Commissioner said the event is being organised by the Inter-Department Badminton Club, Kohima.
There will be four team category of men’s doubles, women’s doubles, mixed doubles, 50+, legislators, ex-legislators and retiree’s with an entry fee of Rs 2000 per team.
The winner will walk away with a prize money Rs 20,000 and Rs 10,000 for the runners up for each category. The last date of form submission is on August 9.
Shanavas further informed that interested teams/players can submit the application form at Okusa Showroom or Sports Inventory or room number 518 at Directorate of School Education.
For players who have represented the State at national or international tournaments, he informed that it mandatory for them to partner with the amateur player.
All the players must be from the departments who are posted in Kohima District. Further, players are instructed to wear jersey with their respective department name printed on it.
It was also informed that if the entry is less than seven for any category, it will be cancelled, and in case of any despite, the organising committee decision will be final.
Meanwhile, Shanavas has encouraged all to maintain discipline staying ‘we have to be role model for others and that we have the convergence and coordination amongst us.’
