Kohima and Dimapur join world in lighting hope for HIV/AIDS community

DIMAPUR, MAY 19 (MExN): A candle Light Memorial Service under the theme, ‘Lighting the path to a brighter future’ will be held on May 21 at AIDA Conference Hall, Don Bosco School Campus at 5:30 pm. The special guest for the service will be Tovihoto Ayemi, Chairperson Dimapur Municipal Council.

The service will be chaired by Dr.E.Mhabemo Ovung, Programme Co-ordinator DAC, invocation prayer by Rev.Yapang, President DPF while life experience sharing will be shared by Toshi, DNP+.

Speech will be delivered by Tovihoto Ayemi, Chairperson DMC while short speeches will also be delivered by K.Nzimongo Ngullie, Deputy Commissioner & Chairperson DAC, W.C.Humtsoe, Chairman N-NAGA-DAO, Dr.Rev. Shiwoto, Principal Living Bible College and Limayanger, PPF+.

The lighting of candle and one minute silence will be done by Bidhu Shekar, Superintendent of Police and Narola, Kushiabill Colony and benediction will be offered by Rev.Moses Murray, Chairman Bethesda Ministries.

In the same vein the state capital will observe the International AIDS Candle Light Memorial on May 21, Sunday evening at 6 pm at the TT Indoor Stadium.

The programme was organized jointly by collective group of NGOs and individuals who have the concern on the menace of AIDS.

Dr P Ngully will chair the function while Dr Kumuni Kathipri and Temjen Toy will speak on the ‘significance of the occasion’ and ‘lighting the path to a brighter future’ respectively and sharing from Mrs Aching. Beside, there will be sharing and presentation of songs from Khedi Baptist Church Youth and Lui.

Chungti will light the candle followed by one minute silent in memory of those who had died of AIDS.

The programme will wind up with the pronouncement of benediction by Rev Pastor Keviyiekielie and placing of the candles.  All the concern citizens are invited to join the programme.
