Kohima Bypass Road: Tunnel works at Meriema village resumed

Dimapur, December 3 (MExN): The Office of Deputy Commissioner Kohima has informed that works for the Kohima Bypass 2-Lane Road Tunnel portion at Chainage KM 11 Meriema Village has resumed following resolution of pending issues raised by land owners.

According to a press release issued through the DIPR, the work was halted by land owners due to concerns of property damage. “These concerns have been addressed and hindrances resolved in a joint sitting held on December 3, in the Office of Deputy Commissioner, Kohima,” the release stated. The 500 metre tunnel construction work at Meriema was delayed for over a year after initial tunnelling work of 112 metres. The remaining tunnelling work which has been halted since then, has now been resolved and settled with the intervention of the DC and Revenue Office, Kohima, it said.
