Kohima, November 3 (MExN): The departments of English in collaboration with the department of Tenyidie, Kohima College Kohima (KCK) celebrated National Author’s Day on November 1 at the Conference Hall, Kohima College.
The college media cell in a press release stated that Kethoselie Zhale, a well-known Tenyidie author and retired teacher, graced the occasion as the resource speaker.
It stated that Zhale underscored the influential role of authors in nation-building and that he urged the students and faculty to nurture their literary talents and contribute meaningfully to society through writing.
At the same time, it stated that the highlights of the celebration was the release of the first edition of the department of English newsletter “Eunoia” which is an initiative aimed at providing students a platform to hone their creative writing, editing, and documentation skills.
Furthermore, it stated that the celebration was marked by facilitating the winner of the essay writing competition which was held on September 29.
It stated that Thüjokhrüto Keyho (BA 3rd Sem, English Dept.) secured the first position whereas Merübeinuo Zumu (BA 3rd Sem, Political Science Dept.) and Keneize-u Mechie-o (B.Com 5th Sem, Commerce Dept.) bagged the 2nd and 3rd positions respectively in the English category.
In the Tenyidie category, Mhashevinü Sale (BA 3rd Sem, Tenyidie Dept.) bagged the first position while Mhalevonuo Khezhie (BA 1st Sem, Tenyidie Dept.) and Viketounuo Kesitsu (BA 1st Sem, English Dept.) secured the 2nd and 3rd positions respectively, it stated.
