Amidst the ongoing water scarcity in the state capital, Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) councilor Kazheli Tungoe inaugurated a much-needed community ring well for the residents of Daklane Ward-7, Kohima on May 17.
This community ring well, a first-of-its-kind project in the ward under the KMC, was initiated by Kazheli under the 15th Finance Commission (FC) Tied Fund.
The inauguration was held in the presence of colony leaders, ward members, and GBs.
Constructed over a perennial spring located in Sector-2 of the colony, the ring well includes a water reservoir atop to help store and distribute water more effectively.
Kazheli expressed hope that the project would provide much-needed relief to the residents of Daklane Ward, who have been grappling with an acute water crisis. She emphasised the importance of such community-driven initiatives in addressing essential needs.
