Kohima, December 3 (MExN): All forms of gambling activities including dice games have been banned in and around Kohima town with immediate effect.
An order to this effect was issued by Kohima Deputy Commissioner Shanavas C on Saturday, stating that “such activities are not only illegal but also create public nuisance and disrupt the peaceful atmosphere of the town.”
“Deputy Commissioner Kohima Shanavas C, IAS has banned all gambling activities including dice games (ChandiMonda, etc) with immediate effect,” stated the order which was issued through the state DIPR. The order has been issued to maintain a peaceful atmosphere in and around Kohima Town and strict action will be initiated against the defaulter(s) as per relevant sections of the law, it added.
