KOHIMA, APRIL 20 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner Kohima has issued a clarification regarding the ILP verification and awareness drive conducted on April 17.
A press release from the DC informed that during the drive, a number of defaulters were caught and fined as per the provisions of BEFR, 1873, in the presence of magistrates. The fines were imposed on defaulters against receipt.
“It has come to the notice of this office that the receipts bearing Sl. No. 1010 and Sl. No. 1011 indicating names of the defaulters and amount, have gone viral on social media and created confusion,” the DC noted.
He clarified that receipt SI. No. 1010 was collectively issued in respect of three defaulters for a total amount of Rs 1500/- and receipt Sl. No. 1011 was collectively issued in respect of two defaulters for a total amount of Rs 1000/- who were caught from a building construction site near Classic Island, Kohima. The DC further disclosed the names of those who were issued Receipt SI. No. 1010 and SI. No. 1011.
The defaulters have been called for further verification and one person admitted that he posted the receipts on facebook using his personal account handle, it was informed. Further, the inadvertent printing error on the receipt coupon has been recalled and rectified by this office, the press release informed.
