Kohima, January 17 (DIPR): The monthly Kohima District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held on January 15 at DC’s conference hall under the Chairmanship of DC Kohima, W. Honje Konyak.
The Board reviewed the last meeting minutes, where discussions were held on the orientation of village functionaries by the Kohima DPDB in commemoration of the 50th Statehood anniversary. In order to strengthen and monitor the village functionaries, the Board constituted a district level committee, headed by the Deputy Commissioner as the Chairman; ADC (Planning) as Member Secretary and Project Director, DRDA as Co-Convenor.
Members include all the administrative officers, District Education Officer, Chief Medical Officer, EE Power/Rural, SDEO Kohima, SDEO Chiephobozou, District Forest Officer, DPRO Kohima, BDOs of Jakhama, Tseminyu and Chiephobozou.
The meeting also discussed issues pertaining to School Education Department and proposed a visit to other district DPDBs and to Meghalaya by the Board members. Regional Transport Officer, Kohima, Pukhavi Sema gave a presentation on his Departmental activities and also spoke on the ongoing Road Safety Week being observed. He also highlighted on the awareness drives organized by the Transport Department for safety driving.
In the meeting, SP Kohima stated that the DEF Kohima will be starting a traffic school soon in Kohima where drivers, both private and government, can avail the facilities, free of cost. He said that the school is being started keeping in mind the importance of having trained drivers for road safety.
