Kohima, March 24 (MExN): The Legislators incharge of Kohima district on COVID-19, Minister for PWD (Housing and Mechanical), Tongpang Ozukum and Advisor for Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Dr Neikiesalie Nicky Kire along with other members of Kohima District Task Force on COVID-19 had a review meeting in DPDB's Conference Hall Kohima on March 23.
According to a DIPR report, Deputy Commissioner, Kohima Gregory Thejawelie NCS chairing the meeting said that the district has witnessed gradual improvement in COVID situation. Minister Tongpang called upon everyone to be alert and educate the people on the COVID situation and SOPs laid by the government.
On the proposal for provision of on-call medical service at COVID Care Centre, Meriema submitted by Chief Medical Officer, the meeting deliberated on the observance made by the medical team and considering the present status of COVID situation in the district decided to further highlight the matter to the High Power Committee (HPC) for further decision. It was also decided to highlight the DTF concern on K Badze issue to HPC for further direction. The meeting also took up issues in regard to Tridge OPD presently functioning at Kohima Local ground and other COVID related issues during the meeting.
Chief Medical Officer, Kohima Dr Vezokholu Theyo presenting on Kohima district COVID status since day one till date, stated that the district has 3912 confirmed positive cases as on March 21. She informed that out of 3912 positive cases, 3840 were recovered, 21 deaths, 37 migrated send to other districts and 13 migrated send to other states with one active case.
On sample collection record, CMO informed that till date a total of 41546 samples were collected out of which 3894 turned out as positive cases. The Break-up as follows: In RT-PCR, 30635 samples collected where 3786 positive cases detected while in TrueNat - 9560 samples collected with 42 as positive and in RAT - 1351 samples collected with 66 positive cases detected.
On Quarantine facilities, CMO informed that the District had set up Quarantine Centres at Meriema, K Badze, ATI, IG Stadium Multi Purpose Hall and JNV where a total of 5521 (male- 3648 and female - 1873) were accommodated at the centres till the closed down of the centres.
On COVID Hospitals, a total of 336 patients were admitted at NHAK COVID Hospital and Chedema COVID Hospital while a total of 1978 patients were admitted at Meriema COVID Care Centre and K Badze COVID Care Centre.
On paid Quarantine Centres, a total of 569 returnees were quarantined in various hotels designated as paid QCs in the district while 426 were admitted at military COVID facility and 1420 health care workers quarantined at other designated centres.
On District COVID vaccination, CMO highlighted that a total of 14936 beneficiaries were vaccinated in 227 sessions conducted till March 22. Out of 11486 numbers of Frontline Workers registered for Vaccination, 7397 received 1st dose and 1910 got 2nd dose. Out of 4223 no. of Health Care Workers (HCW) registered 2207 received 1st dose and 1550 got 2nd dose.
In the third ongoing vaccination, a total of 1607 beneficiaries from the category of 60+ years received the vaccine while 265 beneficiaries under the category of 45 years to 59 years with Co-morbidities received the vaccine till date.
CMO also informed that onsite registration and Vaccination for HCWs and FLWs were still ongoing at the session sites under the districts. Online registration can also be done at www.cowin.gov.in or Aarogya App.
Dr Vezokholu Theyo presented on the way forward for effective control of COVID-19 as follows: extensive Vaccination drive, enforcement of COVID protocol (3Ws and 3Cs), strengthen surveillance and sample testing and need of comprehensive SOP for interstate entry point/s.
