Kohima Forest Division releases book ‘Feathers and Leaves’

KOHIMA, DECEMBER 6 (MExN): Dharmendra Prakash, IFS, PCCF & HoFF, Nagaland released the book, Feathers and Leaves: Flora and Fauna Documented in Forest Colony, Kohima an initiative of Kohima Forest Division on December 6 at Forest Office Complex, Kohima. 

Briefing about the book, Rajkumar M, IFS, DFO Kohima, who conceptualised the book, said that people generally see Forest Colony, Kohima as a residential area with offices around but huge part of the area is covered by forest which serves as a haven for the rich flora and fauna. 

He said that the idea behind this book is that, when people read this book, they would want to contribute their part in conserving the biodiversity. He concluded by saying that this book will act as a guide for those who want to do birdwatching in Kohima. He also thanked Vedpal Singh, Chief Wildlife Warden, Nagaland for his support and for his contribution of photos of the birds.

Dharmendra Prakash congratulated the Division for the initiative and encouraged them to continue the good work. The PCCF also expressed pleasure that a variety of species of birds and trees are found in Forest Colony, Kohima. He encouraged the team to come up with more of such documentations in future. 

Nagaland senior Forest officials and Kohima Forest Division team were present during the release of the book.
