The Hornbill Night Carnival Kohima from Y Junction to Razhu Point has reported 35- 40,000 visitors for ten days.
The organiser- Kohima Chamber of Commerce & Industries (KCCI) informed this to The Morung Express on the last day of the night carnival. The carnival was supported by Nagaland tourism.
On overall response of the carnival, KCCI president Kezhazer Angami said, “Very Good.”
This evening, three bands- Woodland, Faith Harvest Church (Nagamese Fellowship) and Rising Sun (Jazz & Brass band M and C), Frontier BSF Mizoram and Cachar, Silchar entertained the visitors in three locations.
KCCI president thanked the district administration, police, traffic personnel, Kohima Municipal Council, all vendors, Security (Sedekevi Peli, D. Khel, Kohima village), traders within Y. Junction to Razhu Point and media for the success of the night carnival.
Kezhazer informed that the KCCI have not received any complaint or incident of unruly behavior of the visitors during the entire ten days.
He thanked the denizens for coming up in good number and appreciated the level of decency among the visitors.
Meanwhile, Khrietho Kerekeneiko won the most promising stall award. Most innovative stall- Little Niceties, Best mobile photography- Grace and Best decorative building- Aurora (Restaurant & Lodging).
Prize sponsors for the different categories of awards included; Jail Colony Traders, A K Sanitary and Hardware and United Traders.
“We, KCCI sincerely express our sincere thanks for the support and encouragement extended and for the magnanimity towards the Hornbill Night Carnival,” said Kezhazer.
Mentionably, the night carnival featured over 120 stalls.
