Officials of PHED and Zynorique Initiatives Society along with trainees on conclusion of month-long training in Kohima.

Kohima, April 28 (MExN): The month-long skill development training on electrician, pump operator and motor mechanic organised and sponsored by Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), Nagaland and conducted by Zynorique Initiatives Society concluded in Kohima on April 28.
The candidates were trained in two batches and were selected from all the districts with the methodology mainly focused on hands-on practical training.
This training is a component under the Jal Jeevan Mission 2021-2022 with an objective of achieving Functional Household Tap Connection (FHTC) goals to every household.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Engineer (PHED) Er T Sangtam congratulated the trainees for completing the program and encouraged the candidates to utilise the knowledge gained for generating income. He stated that this program is a part of Jal Jeevan mission where a component of the fund is utilised for Capacity Building and Skill Development of the region so that the trained workforce could be absorbed under the same for meeting the FHTC goals.
Chairman of Zynorique Initiatives Society, Architect Richard Belho speaking at the valedictory function, reminded the trained candidates that this is a common goal of both the Governments of India and Nagaland to train and skill the youth so that they can be employed or find self employment. He encouraged the youths to look beyond government jobs and to understand that it is not possible for the Government to absorb everyone into Government Service.
