Kohima Police arrests three for serial robberies

Kohima, October 20 (MExN): The Kohima Police has arrested three persons involved in series of robberies within Kohima town during the last week of September and first week of October. 

According to Kohima Police PRO, the arrests were made following investigation into a case of alleged robbery of LPG cylinders in Pezielietsie colony, whereby person was apprehended and produced at North Police Station, Kohima by the colony youth on October 5.

The accused was identified as Dzuthzo Tsavito Zhimo of Ighavito Village, Zunheboto.

Accordingly, a case was registered and during the course of investigation, it was ascertained that the accused had been indulging in the crime along with two other persons namely Vetsuto Nakro and Shevoto Getsa, both from Pholami Village under Phek, the police said. 

Subsequently, the two absconding accused were arrested on October 19 from Pfütsero Town with the assistance of Pfütsero Police Station, it said. 

The police also recovered eight LPG cylinders and one LCD TV, stolen by the trio from different colonies on several occasions within Kohima town during the last week of September and first week of October, it added. 

The Kohima Police has identified all the owners and the stolen items have been handed over to the respective owners.
