Kohima, July 27 (MExN): The Kohima Police has arrested five persons in connection with the robbery at Delhivery Pvt. Ltd., on July 22 in Kohima. One of the arrested persons included an employee of the courier agency.
According to a press release, issued by the Kohima police, preliminary investigation pointed to the involvement of one of the staff of the agency. The employee, identified as Vishika Swu (30), a resident of Naga Bazar colony, Kohima, was also arrested “for connivance,” it said.
The four others– three from Lazami Village and one person from Phugoboto town- were arrested on July 26. They were identified as Henito Swu (37), a Razu Peyu in the NSCN (IM); Chekiye Achumi (44); Daniel Swu (27) and Qhevishe Sheqi (41), Leacy in the NSCN (IM).
During the operation, the stolen money amounting to Rs 16, 61,700, 4 new RedMi 8A Dual mobile phones, 2 small arms (pistol), 1 magazine, 4 rounds, and 6 extortion slip/work permit of the NSCN (IM), along with several incriminating items were recovered from their possession, it added. A vehicle (NL-01T/8856), used in the crime, was also recovered.
After legal formalities, the accused persons have been remanded to police custody for further investigation. Efforts are on to recover the remaining amount and the other stolen items, it said.
Kohima Police further warned of strict action against criminals and anti-social elements indulging in criminal activities and endangering public peace and security. State Director General of Police T John Longkumer meanwhile congratulated the team for cracking the case in less than 72 hours and directed the Kohima SP to submit the list of all officers and personnel involved in the investigation.
NSCN (IM) terminates 2
The NSCN (IM) meanwhile issued an order through its MIP, terminating the service of its two members involved in the robbery at Delhivery Pvt. Ltd. in Kohima.
“This is to notify that the service of Henito Swu, Razou Peyu of Sumi Region and Qhevishe Sheqi, Leacy of Sumi Region, stands terminated for violation of national principle and Ahza,” the order stated. This order is applicable with immediate effect, it said.
