The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), Regional Centre Kohima today joined the IGNOU 35th Convocation Ceremony along with the rest of 32 IGNOU regional centres in the country.
The main function was held at IGNOU, New Delhi. In Kohima, the attendees of the ceremony also joined the country wide telecast of the convocation programme from IGNOU New Delhi.
In the state capital Kohima, Professor Pardeshi Lal, Vice Chancellor, Nagaland University handed over degree certificates to 130 students at a function held at State Academy Hall, Kohima.
The IGNOU since its inception in 1985 have widely grown and spread all over the country, said Professor Lal in his convocation address as the guest of honour.
He called upon the students to use their wisdom and decision wisely and become a responsible citizen.
Earlier, Dr. Timir Tripathi, Regional Director, IGNOU Kohima delivered welcome address while vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Mayonmi Shimray, Assistant Regional Director, IGNOU Kohima.
