Koinonia Baptist Church spreads Christmas cheer with free refreshments

Members and volunteers of Koinonia Baptist Church distribute free coffee, tea and snacks to travelers near the Koinonia Prayer Centre at Tsiesema Army Camp along NH-2 on December 20.

KOHIMA, DECEMBER 20 (MExN): With the onset of the festive season and preparations to celebrate the birth of the Messiah, Jesus Christ, members of the Koinonia Baptist Church (KBC) on Saturday distributed free coffee, tea and snacks to travelers near the Koinonia Prayer Centre (KPC) at Tsiesema Army Camp along National Highway-2.

According to an update from the Koinonia Media Ministry, the outreach programme is an annual initiative of the Junior CYE and Youth Department of the church, aimed at spreading the message of love and joy that marks the Christmas season.

Throughout the day, KBC members and volunteers not only served refreshments to passersby but also shared messages of the Gospel through specially prepared bookmarks.

Speaking on the sidelines of the event, founder and senior pastor of Koinonia Baptist Church, Rev Dr Zotuo Kiewhuo, said that Christmas is fundamentally about love—the love God showed humanity through the birth of Jesus Christ.

He urged believers not to limit the celebration of Christmas to material enjoyment, but to reflect on its true meaning by sharing love and the message of salvation. Rev Kiewhuo said Christmas reminds people that Jesus Christ came as the Redeemer to liberate humanity from bondage and bring transformation and hope.

The KBC Media Ministry stated that the initiative serves as a reminder that the holiday season is not only about festivities but also about community, compassion and sharing warmth and goodwill with others.
