KQWS, Dimapur organised seminar/awareness programme on festivals of Sumi Naga on March 10 and 11

Dimapur, March 11 (MExN): Kipi Qomi Welfare Society (KQWS), Dimapur organised a seminar/awareness programme on festivals of Sumi Naga at Sumi community hall, Dimapur and Sumi community hall, Kohima on March 10 and 11 respectively.
KQWS chairman, Kughaho Khala in a press release said that the seminar was conducted with the aim to reignite the knowledge of traditional culture of Sumi tribe festivals and how to preserve Sumi culture.
Gracing the programme as special guest, Hosheli, Joint Director, SCERT Nagaland said, “We must value and embrace our Sumi culture, and learn to co-ordinate with the current modern lifestyle.” He spoke on the origin of Sema culture, Tuluni festival and its significance. The resource person, Piholi Sumi, Retd Jt Director of School Education spoke on the utmost need to re-learn and re-nurture the values of tribal culture.
The release stated that the programme was followed by cultural songs and show.
