
Kohima, November 25 (MExN): Kohima Sümi Officers’ Kuqhakulu (KSOK) held its annual general conference at Hotel Vivor, Kohima on November 23.
Exhorting the gathering, K Shiwoto Wotsa, Retd DIG, State Vigilance Commission, Nagaland and former President KSOK urged the union to take the opportunity and serve the people with honesty and dedication as a responsible officer.
He mentioned that there are many NPSC, UPSC and other competitive exam aspirants among the Sümi community, however, many aspirants had least experience for preparation of civil examination. Therefore, he suggested the qualified candidates in the competitive exams and officers having experience to organise seminars and workshops for those aspirants’ candidates.
Wotsa said that there was also a need for proper career guidance to our youths and therefore, he appealed the Sümi officers to highlights the government polices, implementation of those schemes at the grassroots to avail so that opportunities for the common public, according to a press release.
He appealed the gathering to practice “work culture” and encouraged to cite a good example to other fellow citizens. Underline the responsibility of a government servant, he said that “God has chosen you to serve his people and you are the asset to our society,” he added.
According to him there are three important key aspects for the government servant namely, availability, accessibility and awareness. As a government servant we must be made available to ourselves, be accessible and approachable officer and know the government functions and regulations in the office he concluded.
Outgoing President KSOK, Er Kahuli Sema, Engineer-in-Chief, NPWD expressed gratitude to all the office bearers and members for the successful tenure. Sema further extended her best wishes to the new team and thanked the pioneers who established the union and enabled them to come together through this platform.
During the conference, the new office bearers for 2023-2024 were declared with President Warren Holohon Yepthomi, ADC Commissioner Office Kohima; Vice President Kitto Swu, Under Secretary (Finance) Civil Secretariat Nagaland; Vice President Er Hekato Yeptho, Jt Director LRD Nagaland; General Secretary Vikiyeto Noel Jimomi, Accounts officer APC Cell; Joint Secretary Toka Muru, Assistant Director Tourism; Treasurer Vikheto Z Kiba, JE PWD, Tourism Department; and three advisors Kikheto Y Sema, Agricultural Production Commissioner; I Kitto Zhimomi, Commissioner and Secretary, Tourism; and Pitoho Chophy (IA&AS) Principal Accountant General (A&E), Nagaland; Joshua Sheqi, Legal Advisor along with five executive members.

The programme began with invocation by Azahto Naga, Senior Pastor, New Life Church, Kohima and chaired by Hekato Yeptho, Vice President, while Hokheto Yepthomi, General Secretary read out the annual secretary report.
Tosheli Zhimomi, Treasurer informed that 143 annual memberships were reported with 23 new registrations in the union.
