KSU backs RMSA 2016 batch teachers’ demand

NOKLAK, AUGUST 29 (MExN): The Khiamniungan Students’ Union (KSU) headquarters, Noklak, has extended support to the 2016 batch of teachers under the Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) in their demand for immediate implementation of the Gauhati High Court, Kohima Bench, order dated March 16, 2022.

In a press release, the union said the ongoing pen-down strike by the teachers has brought academic activities to a standstill in 133 government high schools across Nagaland, jeopardising the future of students. It urged the state government to take urgent steps to resolve the matter.

KSU said the RMSA 2016 batch teachers were selected through a fair and transparent process and must be granted their salary and service benefits from the date of appointment in 2016. “Justice delayed is justice denied, and we cannot afford to let our educators suffer,” it stated.

Reaffirming solidarity with the teachers, the student body demanded that the state government immediately implement the High Court order and restore the rights of the affected teachers.
