Dimapur, April 23 (MExN): The three days, 64th Konyak Students’ Union (KSU) General Conference concluded on April 21. During the conference, the election for the new team of office bearers were elected with President – Methna Konyak, Vice President – S. Joseph Konyak , Asstt. General Secretary – Tingkei Konyak, Finance Secretary – P. Manpha Konyak , Games & Sports Secretary – T. Pujat Konyak , Social & Cultural Secretary – Yangan Konyak , Chairman, Action Committee – Chingshak Konyak. The Election Commission informed that the posts lying vacant will be filled up later through nomination.
KSU General Secretary Ngampai Konyak in a press release informed that earlier, in the morning session, achievements in various fields were acknowledged with the Presidents’ Award and where speeches and a special prayer was offered for the upcoming generation and the Konyak students. In the valedictory session, Lanpha Konyak, MLA, Nagaland Legislative Assembly, the guest of honour congratulated both the old and new team of office bearers and hoped that the KSU would work and strive towards the upliftment of the students in particular and the Konyak society in general. He reminded the gathering of the respect, honour and sincerity of the Konyaks in the past and said that qualification would be incomplete if a person is not connected to his roots especially since the future belongs to the youths.
The Conference ended with speeches from the outgoing and incoming Presidents and the Union flag was downed after which Rev. Yeangphong Konyak, Evangelist said the closing prayer.
