Kidima, October 7 (DIPR): The Kidima Students’ Union (KSU) organized a seminar cum mass social work on October 5 and 6. The programme was held in collaboration with the Health Committee, WATSAN and Kidima Women Society for the preparation of KSU’s golden jubilee celebration in January 2013.
Deputy Director, Veterinary & Animal Husbandry, Dr. Viral Yore who is also the Convenor of the Golden Jubilee Steering Committee spoke on the topic ‘Golden Jubilee as a Challenge’. Yore opined that jubilee is a time to forgive one another and celebrates the achievements with oneness and asked the people to respect and honour and forgive one another for all round development. He also appealed the students to rededicate themselves in their studies with more hours from their normal study routine in the name of the Jubilee. He also challenged the villagers to give a face-lift of the village for recognition of an exemplary attraction to other people and make Kidima as clean village by the time of golden jubilee which is scheduled in January 2013.
Sub Divisional Officer, Irrigation & Flood Control, Neizal Tepa also spoke on the topic ‘Sanitation’ where he urged the villagers to maintain proper system of toilet, drainage, dust bin, cattle shed and pig sty, granary and common cemetery. He also stressed on for better water supply system, safe disposal of human waste, control of vectors of diseases, domestic and personal hygiene, sanitation and housing and proper diet maintenance.
Medical Officer, Tseminyu, Government of Nagaland, Dr. N. Sezo Rote who spoke on the topic ‘Health & Hygiene’, appealed the people to make a habit of daily bath and to keep their hands clean always. He was also cautioned on the open toilet system and suggested to maintain the pit and to keep the surrounding clean. Rote also advised them to make use of the health centre and hospital which are mainly for the people.
