KSU to undertake non-local registration

Dimapur, May 18 (MExN): The Konyak Students’ Union with reference to the ENSF notification convened an emergency meeting on May 17 with all sub-ordinate units regarding the non-local registration within the KSU jurisdiction. The meeting unanimously resolved that the registration shall start on May 20 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and continue till May 25 at the KSU office. This was informed in a press release issued by KSU.
Therefore, all non-locals residing within the district area are asked to report along with the necessary documentary proof and necessities of valid ILP, PRC etc issued by competent authority. The required document should be submitted in photocopy duly attested by the district administration along with three passport photos (4x5cm).
The issuing authority of the same after verifying their identity proof as per the criteria, have concluded to charge the capitation fee as follows: rupees 200 for fresh; rupees 100 for renewal; rupees 50 for provisional ID card (less than 6 months; rupees 100 for provisional ID card (more than 6 months but less than 1 year); rupees 50 for children below the age of 14 years (only registration) and rupees 500 will be charged as fine (excluding fees) for those who fail to register/renew during the given duration without any valid reason.
The district administration, police establishment, various NGO’s particularly KU, KNSK, sub-ordinate units and other units, well wishers and the general public of Mon district are requested to cooperate during the registration, “since this registration is purely for the general benefit of the public and also to identify illegal immigrates in our area.”
