
DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 17 (MExN): The Kuki Tribal Union of the NSCN (IM) today issued a statement regarding the upcoming planned return of General Secretary of the NSCN (IM) Th Muivah to his native village of Somdal on October 22 after more than 50 years.
A press release from the KTU/NSCN informed that the itinerary will also include visit to Ukhrul and Senapati.
It stated that “Th. Muivah dedicated his entire life to the cause of Nagalim, proudfully shaping its destiny and championing the recognition of the Naga People's unique history to the whole stage. Under the leadership of Late Isak Chishi Swu and Th. Muivah a defining milestone was achieved the signing of Framework Agreement with Govt. of India and the NSCN on 3rd August 2015 moment that will forever be etched in the annals of Naga's history.”
The KTU called upon all individuals, Civil Society Organisation Church, Students' bodies across Nagalim “for fullest Co-operation to welcome the Ato Kilonser.” It said that this visit will be a “deeply emotional and momentous occasion.” “Let us unite in a Spirit of gratitude, solidarity and profound respect to witness and celebrate this historic moment,” it added.
The KTU further pledged solidarity and support to the NSCN/GPRN leadership in their pursuit of a peaceful and lasting solution to the Naga issue.
