Mon, January 13 (MExN): The Konyak Union Mon Unit on Tuesday conducted an inspection of the ongoing road construction project in Mon town and expressed dissatisfaction with the quality of work executed by the construction team.
During the inspection, Union officials found the work to be “improper” and not meeting expected standards. Citing public concern, the Union has appealed to the Director of the Department of Urban Development to renew its commitment to the project and ensure it is completed diligently and to specification.
In a statement, KU Mon Unit President, Chingnye Konyak and General Secretary, Nokhreih Ünok SN called for immediate departmental action. “We request you to conduct a site inspection immediately and direct the contractor to rectify these defects before the work is finalized,” the Union demanded
They emphasised that timely intervention is crucial to prevent further waste of public funds and to ensure the safety of citizens. “The road is a public asset for the welfare and future of the people of Mon,” the Union added.
