KVK Nagaland University conducts kisan mela campaign

Zunheboto, April 28 (MExN): Kisan Bhagidari Prathmikta Hamari Campaign (Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav -April 25 to 30) under the Ministry of Agriculture and farmers Welfare, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Nagaland University in collaboration with ATMA Zunheboto conducted kisan mela at Multi cultural complex, Zunheboto on April 26.

During the programme, department of Agriculture, Land Resources, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Sciences, Soil and Water Conservation, Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, ATMA, IFAD and KVK disseminated the farmers about the different programmes available in the respective department. 

The programme included animal health camp, farmers-scientist interaction, opening of stalls to showcase the latest technologies and distribution of hybrid seeds to the farmers. Altogether 74 practicing farmers from Akuluto, Akuhaito, Ghatashi, Satakha, Satoi, Suruhuto, Tokiye and Zunheboto attended the programme.

KVK Nagaland University conducted the same campaign at Sumi Settsu village on April 28 where 102 farmers attended the programme. This was stated in a press release issued by Dr Visakho Shunyu, I/c, Principal Scientist & Head KVK, NU.
