The 31st Spero Meliora 2025 under the theme “Break the Ice and Steal a March" was held today at Kohima Village Council (KVC) Hall under the aegis of Kohima Village Students' Union (KVSU) and Dolphin Club, Kohima.
Gracing the inaugural ceremony as the special guest, Dr. Kenei Miachieo, Chief Conservator of Forests, Department of Forests & Climate Change, Chhattisgarh, said that Spero Meliora serves as a platform for students to experience and practice grooming themselves for bigger stages.
He applauded KVSU and Dolphin Club for providing this stage for students in the village, which will help them go a long way and assist them in the later part of their lives, where their talents are identified and can be nurtured.
He advised the students to be fearless especially when it comes to strategy and mental fearlessness.
He urged the students to continuously evaluate themselves, identify their weaknesses, and improve upon.
Earlier, Dzüvinguzo Mepfhüo, president, Dolphin Club delivered welcome address. Mhaphruonuo Rutsa presented a special number.
Rev. Dr. Ruokuovilie Sachü of Khedi Baptist Church, Kohima invoked God’s blessings for the program.
Spero Meliora is an annual event organized by Kohima Village Students' Union and Dolphin Club Kohima Village, Nagaland.
It is a literary and cultural competition among the four Khels (clans) of Kohima village- Lhisemia Khel, Tsütuonuomia Khel, Pfuchatsumia Khel, and Dapfhütsumia Khel.
The event featured various competitions, including cultural songs, solo, painting, debate, quiz, elocution, fine arts, instrumental performances, extempore and spelling bee.
Later, Kohima Village Youth Organisation president Er. Medozhazo Matthew Rutsa graced the valedictory programme.
