Lamba arrested in Wangyuh’s case

DIMAPUR, MAY 10 (MExN): In a Press Communiqué issued by Kedi Harulu, Press Secretary to Nagaland Lok Sabha MP, W Wangyuh Konyak it was stated that the court case involving the Member of Parliament came to a befitting finale with the arrest of Amit Lamba and his brother, Dinesh Kumar.

According to the release, the two brothers’ were responsible for dragging the MP to court on false allegations culminating in a political debate involving the opposition party taking it up through a certain English daily in Nagaland which served as their mouthpiece.

The duo unsuccessfully tried to withdraw an amount with a stolen cheque belonging to MP, W Wangyuh Konyak. They alleged that the MP had promised them government jobs in Nagaland and gave them a cheque worth Rs. 10 lakhs which bounced. As per the FIR lodged by Sudhir Kumar, Private Secretary to the Nagaland Lok Sabha MP, Amit Lamba stole some documents and a cheque from the MP’s residence.  

The hearing which took place on May 9 in the Court of Kamini Law, Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, New Delhi, resulted in the arrest of the accused duo. The matter has been listed for the next hearing on May 23.
